Studio Policies The Marker Board and Monthly Newsletter: These are communication tools, Please check "The Marker Board" each week and pick up a copy of the monthly newsletter. Tuition Policy: Checks, Credit Cards and Cash are accepted. Make checks payable to S.P.A.D. Tuition is due by the first (1st) of each month. A $10.00 late fee will be added to accounts that are not paid by the fifth (5th) of each month. There will be a fee of $25 for each returned check. Tuition is not pro-rated for missed classes or holidays. Tuition is due at the time of registration. Class Cancellations: In case of bad weather, morning classes are canceled if Fort Zumwalt School District is closed. For evening or Saturday classes, call the studio and listen to the voice mail, before venturing out in bad weather. Observation Weeks: In addition to our two way mirrors, parents are invited to sit in on class three times a year. All parents and grandparents are welcome to come and view class Recitals and Costumes: The Family Ticket Package offers families a complete, "no hassle" package. The parents receive their reserved seating, no waiting in line and no extra fees! Costumes are ordered in November of each year. The cost is about $50 - $60 per costume. Shoes: Proper Shoe attire is required in all classes Ballet- pink ballet shoes. Tap- black patent leather tap shoes for beginners, black jazz taps for Intermediate and advanced dancers. Jazz/Acro- tan or black slip-on gore boots. See the office to place your shoe orders. Dress Code: The preferred dress for all dancers is black leotards and pink or tan tights. Boys should wear black sweatpants and white T-shirts. Leggings should be tight, so that instructors can see the shape of the leg. Hair should be tied back off the neck and face. No T-shirts, jewelry or shorts
Rules & Regulations for the St. Peters Academy of Dance Performance Company Attendance Requirements: All performance company members are required to take all classes assigned to them, including at least two ballet class per week. This includes all performance technique classes and performance company rehearsals (PCR). Absences: You will be excused from any routine after more than 3 un-excused absences. You are allowed only 3 excused absences from rehearsals. Excused absences must approved by with Kathy prior to the absence. If you are sick/injured you are expected to watch rehearsals. Cubbies: Each company member will have a company cubbie. The names of your cubbie will be handed out in September. We will be having a Christmas party for the Performance Company in December. You will exchange gifts with your cubbie, Please limit your gift to $10.00. At this time we will also be taking a performance company picture. Costumes: Costumes are ordered starting in July, each costume will cost approximately $75-$100, excluding the cost of rhinestones. You may need to do extra stoning at home on some costumes. Hair: We will have a set hairstyle for all competitors. It will be a bun with hair slicked back, NO Bangs. There will be a 1 inch part at the left eyebrow and in the part will be glued 5 #30 gauge crystals, about 1/8 inch apart. All dancers need to keep this hairstyle in mind during the year, especially before you decide to make any changes to your hair style. Performance Company Concert: The Performance Company hosts a concert in January. The purpose of this performance is to provide the children and parents an opportunity to experience the competition routine prior to the first competition. This performance also provides the children with an opportunity to gain valuable experience-performing in front of a live audience. Required Class Attire: Dancers must wear a leotard and tights to all classes, hair in a ponytail or bun and appropriate shoes. Shoes: Tan &/or Black slip on Gore Boots for jazz and lyrical routines. All shoe decisions for specific routines will be made by October 1st. Tights: You need 2 pair of tights for each costume. Tights need to be purchased from the studio. Awards & Competitions: All competition fees MUST be paid in full 3 weeks prior to the competition. Dancers should all be wearing their denim shirts or their studio jackets at all competitions. Denim shirts: you buy them and we can have them embroidered for $5.00 each. Caboodle Necessities
I expect each dancer to get a good nights sleep the evening prior to a competition. NO FRIENDS PLEASE. No sleepovers, parties, roller-skating or any other activity that could cause physical or emotional harm to our dancers the night before they perform. Please get to competition one hour early and stay for awards. Friends are not allowed at competition. Misbehavior or Disrespect at any competition or rehearsal is grounds for immediate dismissal from the group. The Director reserves the right to call off any competition for which she feels the groups are not adequately prepared. The Director also has the option to remove any student from the group if said requirements are not met. Tuition Rates The MONTHLY tuition rates are based on accumulative hours danced each week.
Private Lessons
Family Discounts: Every additional child from each family receives 20% off of their tuition with no registration fees due for dancers from the same family. Twins and boys are 50% off. Registration: An annual fee of $10.00 is required at the time of enrollment. Please stop by the studio at any time, tour our facility and pick up the proper enrollment forms. Monday - Friday 9 am – 12 noon or Monday – Thursday evenings from 4 pm – 9 pm Yearly: (Fall & Spring) These tuition plans have a (15%-20%) savings for those who wish to pay their tuition once a year. The savings is equal to approximately two-month’s free tuition.
