Alden Henderson

Alden Henderson, a St. Louis native, began his dance journey at six years of age at Dance Connection Performing Arts Center, where he won numerous awards and titles at regional and national competitions over the span of a decade. He went on to study at Texas Christian University under the tutelage of Dr. Nina Martin, who inspired his love for postmodernism and how it intersects with contemporary ballet. He graduated cum laude from TCU in 2017 with BFAs in Ballet and Modern Dance. Shortly thereafter, he moved to New York City, where he performed for several companies including Rovaco Dance Company, Green Match Works, VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, Bryce Dance Company as well as other projects. During his tenure with these companies, Alden toured to Michigan, Texas, Massachusetts, and Vermont where he both assisted classes and performed. While in New York, Alden briefly ran his own performance company, [insert dance company title here], where he choreographed work that was presented in curated performance events and in self-produced concerts.

Alden studied pedagogy in Ballet and Modern Dance under Dr. Jessica Zeller and Susan Douglas Roberts respectively. He has led and assisted dance classes in studios, theaters, and public schools over the last ten years. The dance genres he has taught include ballet, contemporary, improvisation, jazz, tap, and hip-hop
to skill groups ranging from beginner to professional across all age groups.
Alden is excited to return to his hometown and share dance knowledge with the students of St. Peters
Academy of Dance.
